WinMacro is freeware. You may use it at home or at work, on as many machines as you like, at no cost and with no registration.
Applies to version 1.77 and later
What you may do
- Use WinMacro for personal, educational, or commercial work, without paying anything.
- Install it on any number of computers, including machines belonging to your employer.
- Deploy it across an organisation without a volume licence or a seat count.
- Distribute the unmodified executable, provided you charge nothing for it and do not bundle it with other software.
- Keep, share and sell the macros you record. They are entirely yours.
What you may not do
- Charge money for WinMacro itself, or include it in a paid package.
- Modify the executable, or repackage it under another name or brand.
- Distribute it through an installer that offers additional software, toolbars or download managers.
- Remove the copyright notice or version information from the file.
Deploying in an organisation
No paperwork is needed to roll WinMacro out internally. Because it is a single portable executable, it can be placed on a network share or pushed to workstations with your usual deployment tooling. If your procurement process requires a signed statement confirming the licence terms, write to licensing@winmacro.net and we will provide one.
Including WinMacro with your own product
Bundling WinMacro with commercial software, a training course or a hardware product requires written permission. This is normally granted at no charge; we simply want to know where it is being distributed so we can support the people who end up using it.
Source code
WinMacro is freeware, not open source. The source is not published and the software is not released under an open source licence.

WinMacro is supplied without warranty of any kind. See the terms of use for the full statement, including the limitation of liability.
In short: use it however you like, don't charge for it, and don't repackage it. Anything beyond that, just ask.
